Starting point

One of my first photography jobs. I was sixteen and worked in the same place, behind the bar and on the coffee machine.

That sounds like a side note and is not one. If you pour the cappuccino yourself, you know how long the rosetta holds before it runs, and if you work in the house, you know the minute a plate leaves the kitchen.

Approach

Shot on a Nikon D600, developed in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop.

Two directions sit side by side in the set. The dark one: meat, grapes, copper mugs and bottles against black wood, light from the side, everything on texture. And the light one: the jar with lime and mint against green, the coffee with berries and pastries, the rosetta in the cappuccino.

Plus the room itself, with its tiled stove and laid tables. An inn does not only sell the food, it sells the evening.

Result

Images for the menu and the presence, made between 2016 and 2017. They already carry the K in the corner, the same mark that sits at the top left of this site today.
